Italian Carrara Mantels
Cast Tec offer a range of beautiful hand crafted mantelpieces manufactured in pure Italian Carrara Marble. Carrara tends to be shades of white with blue-grey markings.

The three designs shown, the Corinthian, Verona and William IV, all have a mantel shelf length of 1500mm (59″) and arrive polished with exquisite hand carved designs or corbels to the tops of the legs.

Carrara marble has been used in the manufacture of fireplace mantelpieces for hundreds of years and being a natural stone it has natural veining, fissures, faults and imperfections which are considered to be part of its beauty.
colour: polar white, material: italian carrara. The Carrara you see in the showroom or online will not look identical to the marble you are supplied with by your retailer.

If natural imperfections are likely to cause any distress please opt for the man-made alternative micro marbles such as Roman Stone and Polar White.

Micro Marbles are made from 95% crushed marble and 5% resin and offer consistency in colouration.

About Italian Carrara:
Carrara is a type of white or blue-grey marble of high quality, popular for use in sculpture and building decor. It is quarried in the Apuan Alps above the city of Carrara, located in Tuscany, Italy.

Carrara quarries have produced more marble than any other place on earth being used in Ancient Rome for the Pantheon, Trajan's Column, the Column of Marcus Aurelius as well as the sculpture of Michelangelo's David (1501-04).

In the U.K. Carrara was used for Birmingham's King Edward VII Memorial, Marble Arch in London, Glasgow City Chambers and the statue to Robert Burns in Dumfries.
